Background

Keeping up with the ever-changing trends in global corporate governance is no easy task, as countries introduce new governance rules that trigger knock-on effects around the world.

To help governance professionals stay ahead of the trends, Bussynet Advanced Trading has organised the 4th annual Africa Directors Summit. For this November 2024 edition, where we have invited a dozen corporate governance experts in the areas of institutional investment, shareholder activism, audit committee management, corporate strategy and regulation; among other corporate governance opinion leaders to identify, analyse and offer solutions to the most pressing corporate governance issues that boards and directors are likely to confront in 2024 and beyond.

Companies in Africa and the world over continue to face demand for upgrades to board skills and structure and other modern directorship and corporate governance attributes – such as the need for rapid response to the increasingly disruptive and changing global operating environment; the need for boards to acquire data analytics skills needed to interpret real-time data accurately in order to incorporate it into their decision-making process; more oversight and less focus on operational issues; as well as consideration for environmental social and governance issues that are becoming critical for investments and strategic decision making.

Scheduled for the 19th until the 22nd of November 2024 at Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town, the fourth edition of the Africa Directors Summit will broaden the awareness of directors and governance professionals in both developing and emerging markets on methods for improving the effectiveness of their respective boards.

This conference will broaden the awareness of members and advisors to Boards of Directors in both developing and emerging markets of methods for improving the effectiveness of their board. This summit will provide an opportunity for participants to upgrade their knowledge needed in successfully fulfilling their roles.
